Books and Pho-to time!

Evening all.

The other day, I went to Dymocks book store and had a good browse of their photography section. I only wish their their range was as expansive as Borders was. I came away with a book titled Expressive Photography: The Shutter Sisters' Guide to Shooting from the Heart which was made by a group of female photographers from a blog called Shutter Sisters (http://shuttersisters.com).

The book has some  interesting photos that the authors explain their thinking behind each one which will hopefully give me some ideas for my own photography. There are a variety of genres covered where they are mostly simple slice-of-life and homely sort of shots which evoke warm emotions. This book caught my eye because the photos were creative and the author explained the thinking behind each one which is kind of similar to another book I have called The Hotshoe Diares: Big Light from Small Flashes by Joe McNally.  Joe's book is written in a narrative sort of form where he tells the story behind each picture.  I am hoping that these sort of books help me to find new ways to taake great pictures.

Other than that, yesterday I went to eat some pho for lunch with a friend and decided to take my camera with me.

I shot this blindly with the camera facing behind me. I have a feeling
I set the shutter speed to 1/4000 by mistake.
